Snowshoe trek Grand rocher
The snow having arrived in abundance in the various massifs around Grenoble since the end of December, we took advantage of it with some friends to go snowshoe trekking in the Nordic space of the Barioz to make the Grand rocher, local summit culminating in 1926m of altitude, an essential to begin the season (many people besides).
By making the complete tour from the Foyer de ski de fond to the Grand Rocher and then passing through the Refuge of the Crêt du poulet, the route is approximately 9km for about 460m of positive gradient. Don't pay too much attention to the trace that doesn't follow the paths, on the snow you can go where you want. :-)
The hike is not particularly difficult (at least when the snow is fresh and light), but it remains nevertheless very nice to do to enjoy the magnificent view of the Belledonne massif to the east and the Chartreuse massif to the west. In addition, we had a sea of clouds covering the whole Grenoble valley up to Chambéry, making the landscape even more beautiful. ;-)
I hope these few pictures will please you. :-)
